As a woman, I have always been aware of the lack of education concerning women's health. My mother is a nurse who works in an emergency room and teaches other nurses. She has often times bemoaned the lack of information concerning female physiology. She made sure to educate me using with nursing textbooks, scientific articles, and websites.

Additionally, I have had many health complications of my own pertaining to female-specific problems, including a lack of estrogen and complications from the Guardasil vaccine. I also know a lot of women who suffer from similiar conditions, and have talked to them at length.

Finally, I am a member of Amnesty International, and have always taken a special interest in their Women's Rights campaigns, which address sexism, misogyny, sex education (puberty and safe sex), and LBTQ+ rights.
